First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTRE or a doctor.

Skin contact

Take off all contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Wash skin with water. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice.

Eye contact

Rinse with water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing for 5 minutes. Call a POISON CENTRE or a doctor.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Give something to drink, if exposed person is able to swallow. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a POISON CENTRE or a doctor.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Unsuitable media

High volume water jet

Specific hazards

Fire Hazard. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Flash back possible over considerable distance. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.

Firefighter Protection

Use personal protective equipment. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Remove all sources of ignition. Ensure clean-up is conducted by trained personnel only. Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8.

Large spill

For large spills, dike spilled material or otherwise contain material to ensure runoff does not reach a waterway.

Environmental

Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water.

Cleanup methods

Collect spillage. Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material. Flush away traces with water.

Materials: non-combustible absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite)

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep away from fire, sparks and heated surfaces. Take necessary action to avoid static electricity discharge (which might cause ignition of organic vapours). Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Open drum carefully as content may be under pressure. Do not breathe spray, vapour. In case of mechanical malfunction, or if in contact with unknown dilution of product, wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Only for mopping use: respiratory protection equipment (RPE) of protection factor of 10 should be worn during the application.

Storage

Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Store in suitable labeled containers.

Hygiene

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash face, hands and any exposed skin thoroughly after handling.

Fire prevention

Keep away from fire, sparks and heated surfaces. Take necessary action to avoid static electricity discharge (which might cause ignition of organic vapours).

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Effective exhaust ventilation system. Maintain air concentrations below occupational exposure standards.

Hands

No special protective equipment required.

Eyes

Safety glasses with side-shields

Respiratory

None required if airborne concentrations are maintained below the exposure limit listed in Exposure Limit Information. Use certified respiratory protection equipment meeting EU requirements(89/656/EEC, (EU) 2016/425), or equivalent, when respiratory risks cannot be avoided or sufficiently limited by technical means of collective protection or by measures, methods or procedures of work organization.

Skin/Body

No special protective equipment required.

Environmental

Consider the provision of containment around storage vessels.
