First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove the victim into fresh air

Skin contact

Rinse with plenty of water. Remove clothing before washing.

Eye contact

Flush eyes immediately with water for 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids

Immediate Medical Attention

Consult a doctor/medical service if irritation persists (eye/skin), if breathing problems develop (inhalation), or if you feel unwell (ingestion).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

All non combustible extinguishing media allowed

Unsuitable media

No data available

Specific hazards

Aqueous solutions of sodium azide, when mixed with acids, may liberate a toxic gas (hydrazoic acid). Sodium azide may react with lead and copper plumbing to form highly explosive metal azides.

Instructions

Take account of toxic fire fighting water. Use fire fighting water moderately and contain it.

Firefighter Protection

Heat/fire exposure: compressed air/oxygen apparatus. Heat/fire exposure: gas-tight suit.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Prevent soil and water pollution. Discharge according to local regulations.

Cleanup methods

Take up liquid spill into absorbent material

Materials: absorbent material
