First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

Skin contact

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

Eye contact

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Ingestion

Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

Call for a doctor immediately.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

Specific hazards

During heating or in case of fire poisonous gases are produced.

Firefighter Protection

Mouth respiratory protective device.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep respiratory protective device available.

Storage

Keep container tightly sealed.

Fire prevention

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

In case of contact with spray dust protective gloves made of butyl shoud be used (min. 0.4 mm thick), e.g. KCL Camatril, article no. 898 or similar products. Protective gloves. Material of gloves: Butyl rubber, BR. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Penetration time of glove material: Butyl rubber gloves with a thickness of 0.4 mm are resistant to: Acetone: 480 min, Butyl acetate: 60 min, Ethyl acetate: 170 min, Xylene: 42 min. Butyl rubber gloves with a thickness of 0.4 mm are solvent resistant for 42-480 minutes. As protective measure, we recommend that users and responsible persons for work safety assume solvent resistance length of 42 minutes. Considering the data in section 3 of this SDS, one can assume longer resistance length in particular cases. For the permanent contact in work areas without heightened risk of injury (e.g. Laboratory) gloves made of the following material are suitable: Natural rubber, NR

Eyes

Tightly sealed goggles

Respiratory

Filter AX, Filter A2/P3. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
