Continue multifilament glasvezel producten (CFGF) zijn gemaakt van glas dat een specifieke vorm (filament) en een bepaalde grootte (diameter) heeft gekregen. Op de filamenten wordt een oppervlaktebehandeling (coating) toegepast, die vervolgens worden samengevoegd tot een roving. De coating is een mengsel van chemicaliën, d.w.z. koppelingsagent, filmvormend middel en polymere harsen/emulsies. Het coatingspercentage is gewoonlijk minder dan 3%.
First Aid Measures

Breng het slachtoffer naar buiten.
Was de huid onmiddellijk met koud water en zeep. Gebruik GEEN lauw water, want dat opent de poriën van de huid en zorgt ervoor dat vezels en stof dieper doordringen. NIET wrijven of krabben op de aangetaste zones. Gebruik een doek om vezels en stof te verwijderen. Als de vezels in de huid zijn gedrongen, kunnen zij worden verwijderd door tape aan te brengen en te verwijderen zodat de vezels aan de tape blijven kleven en uit de huid worden verwijderd.
Symptoms: Aanhoudende huidirritatie
NIET in de ogen wrijven of krabben. Spoel onmiddellijk met veel water. Verwijder na de eerste spoeling eventuele contactlenzen en spoel nog minstens 15 minuten door.
Symptoms: Aanhoudende oogirritatie
Spoel de mond met water en drink water om de vezels uit de keel te verwijderen.
Immediate Medical Attention
Raadpleeg een arts als de symptomen aanhouden.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Gebruik CO2, een droog chemisch product of schuim. Waterstraal of waternevel.
Continue multifilament glasvezel producten zijn niet ontvlambaar, niet brandbaar en voeden geen verbranding. Alleen het organische gedeelte is brandbaar en kan in geval van hitte of een grote en langdurige brand kleine hoeveelheden gevaarlijke stoffen afgeven.
Firefighter Protection
Draag een onafhankelijk ademhalingsapparaat en volledige beschermende kleding net zoals bij elke brand.
