De CGVF producten worden gemaakt van glas dat een specifieke vorm (filament) en afmeting (filamentdiameter) wordt gegeven. Een oppervlaktebehandeling (coating) wordt toegepast op de filamenten die worden verzameld om een bundel te vormen. De coating is een mengsel van chemische producten, d.w.z. koppelingsagent, film vormer, en verwerkingshulpmiddel. De hoeveelheid coating is gewoonlijk lager dan 3%.

Slachtoffer in frisse lucht brengen. Een arts raadplegen indien symptomen aanhouden.
Onmiddellijk afwassen met zeep en veel koud water. Gebruik GEEN warm water omdat dit de poriën van de huid opent waardoor meer vezels en stof binnen kunnen dringen. De aangedane huid NIET wrijven of krabben. Gebruik een washand om de vezels en het stof te verwijderen. Als er zichtbaar vezels uit de huid steken, kunnen deze worden verwijderd met behulp van plakband, de vezels die aan de tape plakken kunnen uit de huid worden getrokken. Een arts raadplegen indien huidirritatie aanhoudt.
NIET in de ogen wrijven of krabben. Onmiddellijk spoelen met veel water. Na initieel spoelen eventuele contactlenzen verwijderen en gedurende minstens 15 minuten doorgaan met spoelen. Bij aanhoudende oogirritatie: een arts raadplegen.
Spoel de mond met water en drink water om de vezels uit de keel te verwijderen. Een arts raadplegen indien symptomen aanhouden.

Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
CO2, droog chemisch product of schuim gebruiken. Waterspray of waternevel.
Continuglasvezel producten zijn niet ontvlambaar, onbrandbaar en verdragen geen verbranding. Alleen het organische deel is brandbaar en kan kleine hoeveelheden niet nader bepaalde gevaarlijke stoffen vrijgeven in geval van zeer grote of langdurige warmte of brand.
Firefighter Protection
Gebruik zelfstandig werkende ademhalingstoestellen (SCBA) en brandbeschermende kleding.
