First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a poison center or a doctor.

Skin contact

Rinse skin with water/shower. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Call a physician immediately.

Symptoms: Burns.

Eye contact

Call a physician immediately. Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Symptoms: Serious damage to eyes.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. If the person is fully conscious, make him/her drink plenty of water. Never give an unconscious person anything to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.

Symptoms: May perforate the oesophagus or the digestive tract. Burns.

Immediate Medical Attention

If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a poison center or a doctor. Call a physician immediately after skin contact, eye contact, or ingestion.
