Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Ensure of fresh air. (eventually by inhaling the overheated product)

Skin contact

In case of contact with skin wash off with soap and water.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes rinsing with plenty of lukewarm water carefully and seek for medical treatment.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. Refer to medical treatment.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam, Dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand, water mist

Unsuitable media

Full water jet

Specific hazards

In the event of fire the following can be released: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2)

Instructions

Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.

Firefighter Protection

Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply (isolated). Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

High risk of slipping due to leakage/spillage of product.

Environmental

Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater. Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil.

Cleanup methods

Take up with absorbent material (e.g. oil binder).

Materials: absorbent material (e.g. oil binder)

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

No special measures necessary if used correctly.

Storage

Keep containers tightly closed.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

or handcream. Choosing a suitable glove is not only dependent on the material but also on further quality characteristics which are different from producer to producer. Therefore the resistance has to be checked before use.

Eyes

Wear face visor or goggles in circumstances where eye contact can accidentally occur.

Skin/Body

Working clothes

Environmental

Local regulations concerning handling and storage of waterpolluting products have to be followed.
