First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention symptoms appear.

Skin contact

Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Get medical attention if irritation develops.

Eye contact

Flush with running water for >15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation develops.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Suitable extinguishing media for small (incipient) fires, use media such as "alcohol" foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. For large fires, apply water from as far as possible. Use very large quantities (flooding) of water applied as a mist or spray.

Unsuitable media

solid streams of water may be ineffective.

Specific hazards

Carbon oxides, Sulphur oxides

Instructions

Cool all affected containers with flooding quantities of water.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
