First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: Mist or vapor inhalation can cause irritation to the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract. May cause drowsiness or dizziness.

Skin contact

Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. Use Collodion Remover or acetone to remove Collodion residue. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Symptoms: Direct contact with skin can cause irritation or redness.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Symptoms: irritation

Ingestion

If conscious give 2 glasses of water to dilute. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth.

Symptoms: Harmful if swallowed. May cause nausea, vomiting, stomach ache, and diarrhea.

Immediate Medical Attention

If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. If symptoms persist, call a physician. If skin irritation persists, call a physician. Seek medical attention.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.
