First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Fresh air. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Symptoms: Inhalation of spray mist may irritate the respiratory tract.

Skin contact

Wash skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Eye contact

Flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 5 minutes. Hold the eyelids apart. Remove any contact lenses. Contact physician if irritation persists.

Symptoms: Eye contact causes eye irritation with redness, burning sensation and tearing.

Ingestion

Immediately rinse mouth and drink plenty of water (200-300 ml). Do not induce vomiting. See a physician if large amounts have been ingested.

Symptoms: Ingestion may cause discomfort, larger amounts may cause nausea and headaches.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. See a physician if large amounts have been ingested.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray, fog or mist. Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide or dry powder.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

The product is flammable, and heating may generate vapours which may form explosive vapour/air mixtures. Vapours are heavier than air and may spread near ground to sources of ignition.

Instructions

Containers close to fire should be removed immediately or cooled with water.

Firefighter Protection

Use compressed air equipment when the chemical is involved in fire. In case of evacuation, an approved protection mask should be used.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

Cleanup methods

Absorb spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material. Collect in a suitable container

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Provide good ventilation. Avoid inhalation of spray mists and contact with skin and eyes. Do not smoke or use open fire, or other sources of ignition. Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented.

Storage

Store in accordance with regulations for flammable goods. Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, well-ventilated room, protected from direct sunlight.

Hygiene

Wash hands after contact with the chemical. Do not eat, drink or smoke during work.

Fire prevention

Do not smoke or use open fire, or other sources of ignition. Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation.

Hands

Normally not required.

Eyes

Normally not necessary. Wear approved, tight fitting safety glasses where splashing is probable. EN 166 (Personal eye-protection. Specifications).

Respiratory

Normally not required. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear half or full face mask with gas filter A (brown, organic vapor filter). EN 14387 (Respiratory protective devices. Gas filter(s) and combined filter(s). Requirements, testing, marking).

Skin/Body

Ordinary workwear.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into sewer, water system or soil.
