First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Obtain medical assistance. Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear.

Skin contact

Wash skin with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing. Wash clothing before re-using. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: May cause an allergic skin reaction.

Eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Rinse immediately and thoroughly, pulling the eyelids well away from the eye (15 minutes minimum). Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persists.

Symptoms: May cause severe irritation.

Ingestion

Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Never attempt to induce vomiting. Do not give an unconscious person anything to drink.

Immediate Medical Attention

Obtain medical assistance (inhalation), Get medical advice/attention (skin/eye), Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor (ingestion).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

Heating may cause an explosion. Hazardous vapours may be released.

Instructions

Get the package away from the fire if this can be done without risk. Cool containers / tanks with spray water if possible.

Firefighter Protection

Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Stop leak if safe to do so. Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

To facilitate product transfer from original container, product may be heated to 40°C. Keep away from heat/hot surfaces/sparks/open flames/other ignition sources. No smoking. Handle and open container with care. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapours, spray. Wear personal protective equipment.

Storage

Protect from sunlight. Store in a closed container. Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.

Hygiene

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Both local exhaust and general room ventilation are usually required.

Hands

Wear protective gloves. Wear Chemical resistant gloves (according to European standard NF ISO 374-1 or equivalent). Choosing the proper glove is a decision that depends not only on the type of material, but also on other quality features, which differ for each manufacturer. (recommended) Nitrile-rubber protective gloves: Thickness >0.56mm

Eyes

Eye protection, including both chemical splash goggles and face shield, must be worn when possibility exists for eye contact due to spraying liquid or airborne particles. Safety glasses. Splash goggles. Protective goggles or face shield

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Approved organic vapour respirator. Type A - High-boiling (>65 °C) organic compounds

Skin/Body

If skin contact or contamination of clothing is possible, protective clothing should be worn

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.
