Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

Protective gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Face protection

Respiratory

In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use respiratory protective device that is independent of circulating air. Filter B. Filter P2

Skin/Body

Protective work clothing. Acid resistant protective clothing. Wear hand, head, and body protection which help to prevent injury from radiation, sparks, and electrical shock. See ANSI Z49.1. At a minimum this includes welder's gloves and a protective face shield, and may include arm protectors, aprons, hats, shoulder protection, and well as dark substantial clothing. Train the welder not to touch live electrical parts and to insulate himself from work and ground.
