First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove the victim into fresh air. Respiratory problems: consult a doctor/medical service.

Symptoms: EXPOSURE TO HIGH CONCENTRATIONS: Feeling of weakness. Central nervous system depression. Dizziness. Narcosis. Excited/restless. Drunkenness. Disturbed motor response. Headache. Respiratory difficulties. Disturbances of consciousness.

Skin contact

Wash immediately with lots of water. Soap may be used. Take victim to a doctor if irritation persists.

Symptoms: ON CONTINUOUS EXPOSURE/CONTACT: Dry skin. Cracking of the skin.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not apply neutralizing agents. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists.

Symptoms: Irritation of the eye tissue.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Consult a doctor/medical service if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: No effects known.

Immediate Medical Attention

Depending on the victim's condition: doctor/hospital.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray, BC powder. Sand/earth.

Unsuitable media

No unsuitable extinguishing media known.

Specific hazards

Upon combustion: CO and CO2 are formed.

Instructions

If exposed to fire cool the closed containers by spraying with water. Physical explosion risk: extinguish/cool from behind cover. Do not move the load if exposed to heat. After cooling: persistent risk of physical explosion.

Firefighter Protection

Gloves. Protective goggles. Protective clothing. Heat/fire exposure: compressed air/oxygen apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Stop engines and no smoking. No naked flames or sparks. Spark- and explosionproof appliances and lighting equipment.

Environmental

Dam up the liquid spill. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Cleanup methods

Take up liquid spill into a non combustible material e.g.: sand/earth. Scoop absorbed substance into closing containers. Carefully collect the spill/leftovers. Clean contaminated surfaces with an excess of water.

Materials: non combustible material e.g.: sand/earth
