First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get immediate medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: Inhalation ( dust ) : For large quantities: May cause irritation to the respiratory system. Increased difficulty in breathing. Sneezing. Coughing

Skin contact

Wash skin with soap and water. In the case of skin irritation or allergic reactions see a physician.

Symptoms: Repeated and/or prolonged skin contact may cause irritation

Eye contact

Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids. Consult a physician.

Symptoms: May cause eye irritation

Ingestion

Obtain immediate medical attention. Wash out mouth with water and give 100-200 ml of water to drink.

Symptoms: May cause stomach ache. Unlikely route of exposure

Immediate Medical Attention

Get immediate medical advice/attention. Consult a physician. Obtain immediate medical attention.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Dry chemical, CO₂, water spray or regular foam.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

May form explosive dust clouds in air

Instructions

Do not use high-pressure water in order to prevent creating a dust cloud and spreading fire dust.

Firefighter Protection

Use appropriate respirator for carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) during the attack phase of firefighting operations and during cleanup in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas immediately after a fire. Personnel not having suitable respiratory protection must leave the area to prevent significant exposure to toxic combustion gases from any source.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Avoid generation of dust. Do not breathe dust. Sweep the spilt toner or remove it with a vacuum cleaner and transfer into a sealed container carefully. Sweep slowly to minimize generation of dust during cleanup. If a vacuum cleaner is used, the motor must be rated as dust explosion proof.

Environmental

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Cleanup methods

Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal.
