First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
When symptoms occur: go into open air and ventilate suspected area. If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a poison center or a doctor. Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
Symptoms: Coughing. Irritation of the respiratory tract. Irritation of the nasal mucous membranes. May cause an allergic skin reaction.
Wash immediately with lots of water (15 minutes)/shower. Soap may be used. Remove clothing while washing. Take victim to a doctor if irritation persists. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Wash with plenty of water/…. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Specific treatment (see supplemental first aid instruction on this label). Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Symptoms: irritation, rash
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Do not apply neutralizing agents. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists. Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
Symptoms: irritation
Rinse mouth with water. Immediately after ingestion: give lots of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Ingestion of large quantities: immediately to hospital. Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a POISON CENTER/doctor if you feel unwell. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
Symptoms: Risk of aspiration pneumonia. Swallowing a small quantity of this material will result in serious health hazard.
Immediate Medical Attention
Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water spray. ABC powder. Carbon dioxide. Preferably: alcohol resistant foam. AFFF foam. Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.
No information available. Do not use a heavy water stream.
DIRECT FIRE HAZARD: Flammable. Gas/vapour flammable with air within explosion limits. INDIRECT FIRE HAZARD: May be ignited by sparks. Reactions involving a fire hazard: see "Reactivity Hazard". Flammable liquid and vapour. DIRECT EXPLOSION HAZARD: Gas/vapour explosive with air within explosion limits. INDIRECT EXPLOSION HAZARD: May be ignited by sparks. Reactions with explosion hazards: see "Reactivity Hazard". May form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture.
Take account of environmentally hazardous firefighting water. Cool tanks/drums with water spray/remove them into safety. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Prevent fire fighting water from entering the environment.
Firefighter Protection
Heat/fire exposure: compressed air/oxygen apparatus. Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Local exhaust ventilation should be provided. Stop engines and no smoking. No naked flames or sparks. Spark- and explosionproof appliances and lighting equipment. Evacuate unnecessary personnel.
Large spills/in enclosed spaces: compressed air apparatus.
Substance must not be discharged into the sewer. Prevent soil and water pollution.
This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe way, and as per local legislation. Take up liquid spill into a non combustible material e.g.: sand, earth, vermiculite, kieselguhr, powdered limestone. Scoop absorbed substance into closing containers. Clean contaminated surfaces with an excess of water. Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible. Collect spillage. Store away from other materials.
Materials: sand, earth, vermiculite, kieselguhr, powdered limestone, clay, diatomaceous earth
