First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Seek fresh air. Seek medical advice in case of persistent discomfort.

Skin contact

Immediately remove contaminated clothing, watch and jewellery. Wash skin with soap and water. Seek medical advice immediately.

Eye contact

Open eye wide, remove any contact lenses and flush immediately with water (preferably using eye wash equipment). Seek medical advice immediately. Continue flushing until medical attention is obtained.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach contents do not enter lungs. Wash out mouth thoroughly and drink 1-2 glasses of water in small sips. Seek medical advice immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical advice immediately for ingestion, skin contact, and eye contact.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptoms.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Extinguish with powder, foam, carbon dioxide or water mist. Use water or water mist to cool non-ignited stock.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water stream, as it may spread the fire.

Specific hazards

Not flammable, but combustible. Product decomposes in fire conditions or when heated to high temperatures, and inflammable and toxic gases may be released.

Firefighter Protection

Wear Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with a chemical protection suit but gas-tight suit when close proximity to the substance or its vapours is likely. Wear gloves.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Stay upwind/keep distance from source.

Small spill

Wipe up minor spills with a cloth.

Environmental

Prevent spillage from entering drains and/or surface water.

Cleanup methods

Contain and absorb spill with sand or other absorbent material and transfer to suitable waste containers. Wipe up minor spills with a cloth.

Materials: sand or other absorbent material, cloth

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Running water and eye wash equipment must be available. Wash hands before breaks, before using restroom facilities, and at the end of work. A risk assessment must ensure that the employees are not exposed to effects from chemicals. The risk assessment must result in measures preventing exposure.

Storage

Keep in tightly closed original packaging. Store in a dry area.

Hygiene

Wash hands before breaks, before using restroom facilities, and at the end of work.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use the product under well-ventilated conditions. Wear the personal protective equipment specified below.

Hands

Intact, closed container: Not required. In the event of direct skin contact, wear protective gloves: Type of material: Butyl rubber. Breakthrough time has not been determined for the product. Change gloves often. Gloves must conform to EN 374.

Eyes

Intact, closed container: Not required. In case of leaking battery: Wear safety goggles if there is a risk of eye splash. Eye protection must conform to EN 16321.

Respiratory

Intact, closed container: Not required. In case of risk of formation of spray mist, wear respiratory protective equipment with P2 filter. Respiratory protection must conform to one of the following standards: EN 136/140/145.
