First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Provide fresh air.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of water. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart.

Ingestion

If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious).

Immediate Medical Attention

Medical treatment necessary for inhalation and skin contact. Consult an ophthalmologist for eye contact. Obtain immediate medical attention for ingestion.

Medical Treatment

Medical treatment necessary.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray jet, Foam, Dry extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media

Full water jet

Specific hazards

Non-flammable. Thermal decomposition can lead to the escape of irritating gases and vapours.

Instructions

Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Use personal protection equipment.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Wipe up with absorbent material (eg. cloth, fleece). Clear contaminated areas thoroughly.

Materials: cloth, fleece

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Do not dry up the product.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed. Keep locked up. Store in a place accessible by authorized persons only.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. Draw up and observe skin protection programme. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary. When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff.

Fire prevention

No special fire protection measures are necessary.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations.

Hands

When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves. Suitable material: NBR (Nitrile rubber)

Eyes

Wear eye/face protection.

Respiratory

In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. At emergence of dried solid residues use particle filter P2.

Skin/Body

Use of protective clothing. Material, alkali-resistant
