First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If breathing is irregular or stopped, immediately seek medical assistance and start first aid actions. Provide fresh air.

Skin contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash with plenty of soap and water.

Eye contact

Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 10 minutes, holding the eyelids apart.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do NOT induce vomiting.

Immediate Medical Attention

If breathing is irregular or stopped, immediately seek medical assistance. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water mist, Fire extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media

Water jet

Specific hazards

In case of insufficient ventilation and/or in use, may form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture.

Instructions

Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance. Co-ordinate firefighting measures to the fire surroundings.

Firefighter Protection

Use suitable breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel: Remove persons to safety. For emergency responders: Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dust/spray/gases.

Environmental

Keep away from drains, surface and ground water. Retain contaminated washing water and dispose of it.

Cleanup methods

Place in appropriate containers for disposal.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Use local and general ventilation. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.

Storage

Store in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Keep in a cool place.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Never place chemicals in containers that are normally used for food or drink.

Fire prevention

Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Hands

Wear protective gloves. Chemical protection gloves are suitable, which are tested according to EN 374. Type of material. NBR: acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber. CR: chloroprene (chlorobutadiene) rubber. PVC: polyvinyl chloride.

Eyes

Work with safety glasses.

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Type: A-P2 (combined filters against particles and organic gases and vapours, colour code: Brown/White).

Skin/Body

Preventive skin protection (barrier creams/ointments) is recommended. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Environmental

Use appropriate container to avoid environmental contamination. Keep away from drains, surface and ground water.
