First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If breathing is irregular or stopped, immediately seek medical assistance and start first aid actions. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician. Provide fresh air.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of soap and water.

Eye contact

Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 10 minutes, holding the eyelids apart.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do NOT induce vomiting.

Immediate Medical Attention

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice. If breathing is irregular or stopped, immediately seek medical assistance. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water mist, Fire extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media

Water jet

Specific hazards

In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

Instructions

Co-ordinate firefighting measures to the fire surroundings. Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance.

Firefighter Protection

Use suitable breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Remove persons to safety.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Storage

Store in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Keep in a cool place.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Never place chemicals in containers that are normally used for food or drink.

Fire prevention

Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Hands

Wear protective gloves. When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. Type of material. NBR: acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber. CR: chloroprene (chlorobutadiene) rubber. PVC: polyvinyl chloride.

Eyes

Use safety goggle with side protection.

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Type: A-P2 (combined filters against particles and organic gases and vapours, colour code: Brown/White).

Skin/Body

Take recovery periods for skin regeneration. Preventive skin protection (barrier creams/ointments) is recommended. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Environmental

Use appropriate container to avoid environmental contamination. Keep away from drains, surface and ground water.
