First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention.

Skin contact

Immediately flush skin with plenty of water (using soap, if available). Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. For severe exposures, get under safety shower after removing clothing, then get medical attention. For lesser exposure, seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists after area is washed. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse.

Eye contact

Flush with copious amounts of water, preferably, lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids open all the time. Get medical attention.

Ingestion

DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get immediate medical attention.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get immediate medical attention.

Medical Treatment

Persons with asthmatic-type conditions, chronic bronchitis, other chronic respiratory diseases or recurrent skin eczema or sensitization should be excluded from working with isocyanates.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Not available.

Specific hazards

Closed containers may rupture (due to build up of pressure) when exposed to extreme heat.

Instructions

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.

Environmental

Do not allow product to enter sewer or waterways.

Cleanup methods

Keep unnecessary personnel away. Spilled material will solidify. Scrape up spilled material and place in a closed container for disposal. Refer to Section 8 "Exposure Controls / Personal Protection" prior to clean up.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep away from heat, spark and flame. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapor/spray. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep container closed.

Storage

Store between -20 °C (-4°F) and 50 °C (122°F). Store in tightly closed containers to prevent moisture contamination. Protect from direct sunlight. Maintain head space in storage containers to support oxygen requirements of the inhibitor(s).

Hygiene

Wash thoroughly after handling.

Fire prevention

Keep away from heat, spark and flame.
