First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If symptoms develop and persist, get medical attention.

Skin contact

Wash affected area immediately with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. If symptoms develop and persist, get medical attention.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms develop and persist, get medical attention.

Ingestion

If material is ingested, immediately contact a physician or poison control center. DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Specific hazards

This product is an aqueous mixture which will not burn. Closed containers may rupture (due to build up of pressure) when exposed to extreme heat.

Instructions

Keep unnecessary personnel away. Fire fighters should avoid inhaling any combustion products.

Firefighter Protection

Fire fighters should wear full-face, self contained breathing apparatus and impervious protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Use personal protection recommended in Section 8, isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away.

Small spill

Small spills can be absorbed with vermiculite, clay or other suitable non-biodegradable absorbent material, scooped up and placed in containers.

Large spill

For large spills dike ahead and collect liquid.

Environmental

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Prevent contamination of soil and water.

Cleanup methods

Small spills can be absorbed with vermiculite, clay or other suitable non-biodegradable absorbent material, scooped up and placed in containers. For large spills dike ahead and collect liquid.

Materials: vermiculite, clay or other suitable non-biodegradable absorbent material
