First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If spray/mist has been inhaled, proceed as follows. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: May cause an asthma-like shortness of breath. Vapours may cause headache, fatigue, dizziness and nausea.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.

Symptoms: Prolonged or repeated contact with skin may cause irritation, redness and dermatitis. Allergic rash.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub eye.

Symptoms: May cause temporary eye irritation.

Ingestion

Contact physician if larger quantity has been consumed. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.

Symptoms: May cause discomfort if swallowed. May cause stomach pain or vomiting. May cause nausea, headache, dizziness and intoxication.
