First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Terminate the exposure immediately; move the affected person to fresh air. Protect the person against growing cold. Provide medical treatment if irritation, dyspnoea or other symptoms persist.

Symptoms: May cause drowsiness or dizziness.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothes. Wash the affected area with plenty of water, lukewarm if possible.

Symptoms: Not expected.

Eye contact

Rinse eyes immediately with a flow of running water, open the eyelids (also using force if needed); remove contact lenses immediately if worn by the affected person. Rinsing should continue at least for 10 minutes. Provide medical treatment, specialized if possible.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation.

Medical Treatment

Symptomatic treatment.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, powder, water spray jet, water mist.

Unsuitable media

Water - full jet.

Specific hazards

In the event of fire, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other toxic gases may arise. Inhalation of hazardous degradation (pyrolysis) products may cause serious health damage.

Instructions

Closed containers with the product near the fire should be cooled with water.

Firefighter Protection

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with a chemical protection suit only where personal (close) contact is likely. Use a self-contained breathing apparatus and full-body protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Provide sufficient ventilation. Extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurised container: May burst if heated. Remove all ignition sources. Use personal protective equipment for work. Follow the instructions in the Sections 7 and 8. Do not inhale aerosols. Prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Large spill

In the event of leakage of the substantial amount of the product, inform fire brigade and other competent bodies.

Environmental

Prevent contamination of the soil and entering surface or ground water.

Cleanup methods

Do not use solvents.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Prevent formation of gases and vapours in flammable or explosive concentrations and concentrations exceeding the occupational exposure limits. Use non-sparking tools. Use of antistatic clothes and footwear is recommended. Do not inhale aerosols. Prevent contact with skin and eyes. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Use personal protective equipment as per Section 8.

Storage

Store in tightly closed containers in cold, dry and well ventilated areas designated for this purpose. Store locked up. Protect from sunlight. Keep container tightly closed. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 °C.

Hygiene

Wash hands and exposed parts of the body thoroughly after handling.

Fire prevention

The product should be used only in the areas where it is not in contact with open fire and other ignition sources. Use non-sparking tools. No smoking.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Follow the usual measures intended for health protection at work and especially for good ventilation. This can be achieved only by local suction or efficient general ventilation.

Hands

Protective gloves for working with chemicals - resistant to organic solvents (in accordance with EN ISO 374) - Type A, design class for permeation min. 2. Suitable material nitrile rubber or butyl rubber; thickness >0.4 mm; penetration time >30 min. The selection of suitable gloves also depends on other influences and conditions of use (the mixture can be used for various purposes with other substances, protection against cuts, punctures, thermal protection, possible reactions to the material of the gloves is necessary in addition to chemical protection). The suitability of gloves for all purposes cannot therefore be determined in advance and must be verified during real use. Due to the large number of different types, it is necessary to follow the instructions of the glove manufacturer. Gloves must always be replaced if they are damaged or if the break-in time has been exceeded.

Eyes

Protective goggles.

Respiratory

If exposure limits cannot be observed in this mode, suitable protection of airways must be used. In a poorly ventilated area and/or when OEL or recommended exposure values are exceeded, use a protective mask with a filter against organic vapors and aerosols, type A. The time of use of the filter is limited - follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Skin/Body

Use work clothes to protect your body.

Environmental

Observe usual measures for protection of the environment, see Section 6.2.
