Immediately take off all contaminated clothing. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose off safely. After contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water.
Symptoms: chemical burns the skin, with local discomfort or pain, severe redness, ulceration and destruction of tissue.
After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time. Protect uninjured eye.
Symptoms: redness, pain and loss of vision.
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Symptoms: severe burns on the lips, mouth, throat and esophagus, with gastric disorders and abdominal pain. If swallowed, may cause severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea and collapse.
Immediate Medical Attention
OBTAIN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. Consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
In the case of fire in the surroundings, all extinguishing agents are allowed.
Avoid direct contact with water
Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Burning produces heavy smoke.
Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.
Firefighter Protection
Use suitable breathing apparatus.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Wear personal protection equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Remove persons to safety. See protective measures under point 7 and 8.

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, inhalation of vapours and mists. Don't use empty container before they have been cleaned. Before making transfer operations, assure that there aren't any incompatible material residuals in the containers.
Adequately ventilated premises.
Contaminated clothing should be changed before entering eating areas. Do not eat or drink while working.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Appropriate ventilation
Neoprene rubber gloves (EN374).
Safety goggles for chemicals, with suitable lateral protection (EN166).
Use respiratory protection in foggy ambient. Suitable respiratory protection at low concentrations or short-term incidence: P2-type filter mask (white), with medium retention ability, for irritant or harmful solid particles or aerossols (EN143), Inward leakage: 8%, Assigned protection factor: up to 10 times TLV. In order to obtain a suitable protection level, the filter class must be selected depending on the type and concentration of the contaminating agents present, in accordance with the specifications supplied by the filter producers.
Clothing resistant to corrosive products. Apron resistant to corrosive products. Neoprene rubber boots (EN347).
Prevent uncontrolled penetration on the soil. Because of its alcalinity, it is dangerous to aquatic organisms. Do not allow to escape into drains, sewers or water courses.
Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance, physical state, melting point, boiling point, and material characteristics
Stability and Reactivity
Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.
Highly reactive product.
Dilution with water is exothermic. The aqueous solution attacks many metals, giving off hydrogen, an extremely inflammable gas which produces explosive mixtures when in contact with air.
Never pour water over this substance; when it has to be dissolved or diluted, add the water slowly.
Acids, metals, plastic, rubber and coatings.
