Hazard Statements

H241 This product can react EXPLOSIVELY with acids, aldehydes and many other organic chemicals. Follow the above mixing procedures and add product very carefully while constantly stirring.
H260 Most important hazards: This product can react violently with water giving exothermic reactions, therefore always mix wearing protective clothing.
H260 NEVER add water to the product.
H271 If product is added too rapidly or without stirring and becomes concentrated at bottom of vessel, excessive heat could be generated resulting in boiling and splattering.
H290 This product is corrosive to tin, aluminium, zinc, alloys containing these materials and will react violently with these metals in powder form.
H314 Specific hazards: It is destructive to tissues and eyes, causing severe burns.
H331 Hazardous Carbon Monoxide gas can form upon contact with food and beverage products in enclosed spaces and can cause death. Follow appropriate tank entry procedures.
ALWAYS add product to lukewarm water slowly and with constant stirring to ensure product is being completely dissolved as it is added.

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash affected skin with soap and water.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Ingestion

Immediately give large quantities of water to drink. Prevent vomiting if possible.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical treatment when anyone has symptoms apparently due to swallowing, inhalation or contact with skin or eyes. Obtain medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Fog - in the absence of fog a fine spray may be used.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

Corrosive. Contact with liquid causes skinburns and severe damage to eyes. Heating will cause pressure rise with risk of bursting and subsequent explosion. Decomposes in a fire giving off toxic fumes. Reacts violently with water.

Instructions

Keep container(s) cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.

Firefighter Protection

Full protective clothing including Breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Prevent liquid entering sewers, basements and workpits.

Cleanup methods

Contain leaking liquid with sand or earth; consult an expert.

Materials: sand or earth
