First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove the person affected from the exposure area and provide with fresh air. Seek medical attention if the symptoms get worse or persist.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothes and shoes, rinse the skin or if necessary shower the affected person thoroughly with cold water and neutral soap. In case of serious reaction consult a doctor.

Eye contact

Rinse eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. If the injured person uses contact lenses, these should be removed unless they are stuck to the eyes, in which case removal could cause further damage. In all cases, after cleaning, a doctor should be consulted as quickly as possible with the SDS for the product.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting, but if it does happen keep the head down to avoid aspiration. Keep the person affected at rest. Rinse out the mouth and throat, as they may have been affected during ingestion.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical attention if the symptoms get worse or persist (inhalation). In case of serious reaction consult a doctor (skin). In all cases, after cleaning, a doctor should be consulted as quickly as possible with the SDS for the product (eye).

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

If possible use polyvalent powder fire extinguishers (ABC powder), alternatively use foam or carbon dioxide extinguishers (CO₂).

Unsuitable media

IT IS RECOMMENDED NOT to use full jet water as an extinguishing agent.

Specific hazards

As a result of combustion or thermal decomposition reactive sub-products are created that can become highly toxic and, consequently, can present a serious health risk.

Instructions

Act in accordance with the Internal Emergency Plan and the Information Sheets on actions to take after an accident or other emergencies. Eliminate all sources of ignition.

Firefighter Protection

Depending on the magnitude of the fire it may be necessary to use full protective clothing and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Isolate leaks provided that there is no additional risk for the people performing this task. Evacuate the area and keep out those who do not have protection.

Small spill

Contain spillage using barriers or similar equipment. Use suitable absorbents for collection and treat the waste in accordance with current regulations.

Large spill

If possible, contain spillage in open water using barriers or similar equipment. If this is not possible, try to control its spread and collect the product with suitable mechanical means. Always consult experts before using dispersants and make sure you have the necessary approvals if they are to be used. Treat the waste according to current regulations.

Environmental

Avoid at all cost any type of spillage into an aqueous medium.

Cleanup methods

Contain the product absorbed appropriately in hermetically sealed containers.

Materials: sand or inert absorbent

Regulatory Information

Chemical regulations, safety assessments, and compliance status

This SDS is an English translation of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2020/878, without any country-specific legislation.

Chemical Safety Assessment Not performed

This product contains Zinc Dialkyl DithioPhosphate (ZDDP), a thermally sensitive substance. Do not reheat above the maximum loading temperature. Higher temperatures can result in exothermic decomposition of the ZDDP leading to the release of highly toxic hydrogen sulphide and possibly extremely odorous alkyl mercaptans.
