Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry chemical, Foam

Unsuitable media

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Instructions

Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers.

Firefighter Protection

Wear an approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus in addition to standard fire fighting gear.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Remove all sources of ignition. Ventilate the area. Do not breathe vapors or spray mist. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Material can create slippery conditions. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment. Clear up spills immediately and dispose of waste safely. Collect spillage.

Cleanup methods

soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal

Materials: non-combustible absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite)
