Stability and Reactivity

Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials

Stability

Hygroscopic.

Reactivity

Decomposes on exposure to temperature rise: release of toxic/corrosive/combustible gases/vapours (acrolein). Reacts violently with (strong) oxidizers: (increased) risk of fire/explosion. Reacts with (some) acids: (increased) risk of fire/explosion.

Hazardous reactions

May polymerize on exposure to temperature rise.

Avoid

temperature rise

Incompatible

(strong) oxidizers, (some) acids

Decomposition

toxic/corrosive/combustible gases/vapours (acrolein). Upon combustion CO and CO2 are formed.
