First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: Inhaling can lead to irritations of the respiratory tract and mucous membrane.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of water/soap.

Eye contact

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth and drink large quantities of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical treatment in case of troubles (inhalation). If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical attention. Subsequently consult an ophthalmologist (eye). Immediately get medical attention (swallowing).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray jet, alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media

Full water jet

Specific hazards

Highly flammable liquid and vapour. Air combined with vapours may form potentially explosive mixtures that are heavier than air. Vapours may proceed on the ground over great distances and cause fire and backflashes. In partially filled containers explosive mixtures may form.

Instructions

Fight fire remotely due to the risk of explosion.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and full firefighting protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so. Avoid contact with the substance. Avoid breathing mist/vapours/spray. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate protective equipment. Keep unprotected people away. Evacuate area. If possible, eliminate leakage. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.

Large spill

Dam spills.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into ground-water, surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Collect it for disposal in appropriate containers in accordance with the local regulations (see section 13).

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Work place should be equipped with a shower and an eye rinsing apparatus.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Keep container dry. Keep only in the original container. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Store containers in upright position.

Hygiene

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Work place should be equipped with a shower and an eye rinsing apparatus.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide good ventilation and/or an exhaust system in the work area. Explosion protection required. See also information in chapter 7, section storage.

Hands

Protective gloves according to BS EN ISO 374-1. Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and breakthrough time. Glove material: Butyl caoutchouc (butyl rubber) - Layer thickness: 0,5 mm Fluororubber (Viton) - Layer thickness: 0,4 mm Breakthrough time: >480 min. Unsuitable materials: natural rubber, nitrile rubber Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and breakthrough time.

Eyes

Tightly sealed goggles according to BS EN ISO 16321-1.

Respiratory

Respiratory protection must be worn whenever the WEL levels have been exceeded. Use filter type A (= against vapours of organic substances).
