First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

When symptoms occur: go into open air and ventilate suspected area. Keep at rest and in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: Causes irritation to the respiratory tract. When two components are mixed the urea-silicate grout may cause allergy or asthma like symptoms and breathing difficulties if inhaled.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse off affected area with water and soap. Obtain medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation. When two components are mixed may cause an allergic skin reaction.

Eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing for at least 15 minutes. Immediately call a doctor/physician.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, have victim lean forward with head positioned between legs to avoid breathing in of vomit, rinse mouth and have victim drink plenty of water. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Symptoms: Ingestion is likely to be harmful or have adverse effects.

Immediate Medical Attention

If exposed or concerned, get medical advice and attention.

Medical Treatment

When two components are mixed symptomatic treatment, no special antidote known. For pulmonary oedema prophylaxis: dexamethasone aerosol.
