First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Drench the skin thoroughly, and wash with soap and water.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth thoroughly with water and give plenty of water to drink.

Immediate Medical Attention

In severe cases, or if exposure has been great, OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION. If irritation persists OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

N/A (non-flammable)

Unsuitable media

None specified

Specific hazards

May evolve toxic fumes in fire. Cool down containers to prevent rupture and release of hazardous gases. Can react with nitrates to give explosive products.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear appropriate protective clothing. Inform others to keep at a safe distance.

Small spill

mop up with plenty of water and run to waste, diluting greatly with running water. Otherwise absorb on an inert absorbent, transfer to container and arrange removal by disposal company.

Large spill

For large spillages liquids should be contained with sand or earth and both liquids and solids transferred to salvage containers.

Environmental

If local regulations permit, mop up with plenty of water and run to waste, diluting greatly with running water. Otherwise absorb on an inert absorbent, transfer to container and arrange removal by disposal company.

Cleanup methods

Any residues should be treated as for small spillages.

Materials: inert absorbent
