First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If inhaled, remove to fresh air.

Symptoms: This product is not likely to volatilize rapidly into the air because of its low vapor pressure. May cause slight transient irritation.

Skin contact

Wash contaminated skin with soap and water.

Symptoms: Defatting to the skin. High pressure skin injections are serious medical emergencies. Injury will not appear serious at first. Within a few hours, tissue will become swollen, discolored and extremely painful. Prolonged or repeated contact can defat the skin and lead to irritation, cracking and/or dermatitis.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Symptoms: May cause slight transient irritation. (redness)

Ingestion

Get medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.

Symptoms: Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation and diarrhea.

Immediate Medical Attention

High pressure skin injections are serious medical emergencies.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO₂, powders, Foam

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur and the container may burst.

Instructions

Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire.

Firefighter Protection

Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Stop leak if without risk. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite or diatomaceous earth and place in container for disposal according to local regulations.

Environmental

Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Cleanup methods

Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material and place in container for disposal according to local regulations.

Materials: non-combustible, absorbent material e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite or diatomaceous earth
