First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move exposed person to fresh air. Keep person warm and at rest. If not breathing, if breathing is irregular or if respiratory arrest occurs, provide artificial respiration or oxygen by trained personnel.

Symptoms: Unlikely to occur unless accidentally during use wipe may cause signs of inhalation.

Skin contact

Wash contaminated skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly with water before removing it, or wear gloves. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes.

Symptoms: Irritation.

Eye contact

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Check for and remove any contact lenses. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes. Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids widely.

Symptoms: If irritation persists.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. NEVER MAKE AN UNCONCIOUS PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! Rinse mouth thoroughly.

Symptoms: Minimal liquid from wipes is not possible to consume.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention if adverse health effects persist or are severe. Contact poison treatment specialist immediately if unconsciousness appears with a user due to ingested or inhaled.

Medical Treatment

No specific treatment. Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water spray, fog or foam. Use an extinguishing agent suitable for the surrounding fire.

Specific hazards

In a fire or if heated and in presence on air will increase fire. Fire water must be prevented from being discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain.

Instructions

Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training.

Firefighter Protection

Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Evacuate surrounding areas. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through contaminated/spilled material.

Environmental

Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see section 8). Provide good ventilation. Wash hands and contaminated areas with water and soap before leaving the work site. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using the product. Empty containers retain product residue and can be hazardous. Do not reuse container.

Storage

Store product in accordance with local regulations. Store in original packs protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials (see section 10) and food and drink. Keep canisters tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Canisters that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Hygiene

Wash hands and contaminated areas with water and soap before leaving the work site. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using the product.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation

Hands

Protection should be used for prolonged or repeated skin contact use suitable protective gloves. Disposable gloves are recommended like simple design for minimal risk. Prolonged contact can cause skin to dry and initiate irritancy. (EN374) : No special protective equipment is required.

Eyes

Wear approved, tight fitting safety glasses where cross contamination are probable. EN166. Eye and face protection (EN 166) : No special protective equipment is required.

Respiratory

Respiratory equipment not required. Respiratory protection not required. Respiratory protection : None required if airborne concentrations are maintained below the exposure limit listed in Exposure Limit Information.

Skin/Body

Use barrier creams to prevent skin contact. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact. Skin and body protection (EN 14605): No special protective equipment is required.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment. Users should be aware of environmental considerations and their duties under environmental protection act. Further information may be found on Government websites: www.dti.gov.uk/access/index.htm and www.envirowise.gov.uk. Consider the provision of containment around storage vessels.
