First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air, keep warm and at rest. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Apply artificial respiration only if patient is not breathing.

Symptoms: May cause irritation. High concentrations may cause narcotic effects. Symptoms: sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, severe breathing difficulties, headache.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and drench affected skin with plenty of water. Then wash with soap and water.

Symptoms: May cause irritation. Prolonged skin contact will result in defatting of the skin, leading to irritation, and in some cases, dermatitis. Symptoms: redness and pain.

Eye contact

If substance has got into eyes, immediately wash out with plenty of water.

Symptoms: May cause irritation. Symptoms: redness and pain.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water (do not swallow).

Symptoms: After vomiting of swallowed product, aspiration into lungs is likely. Solvents may induce chemical pneumonia. Symptoms: abdominal pain, dizziness, diarrhea, cough, headache.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical advice for eye contact. Seek medical attention if skin irritation persists. Seek immediate medical attention for inhalation. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. In general, if any symptoms occur or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).
