First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Provide fresh air. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.

Skin contact

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of skin irritation, consult a physician.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist.

Symptoms: Irritating to eyes.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray jet. Carbon dioxide. Foam. Extinguishing powder.

Unsuitable media

High power water jet.

Specific hazards

In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide. Pyrolysis products, toxic.

Instructions

Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Firefighter Protection

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dusts/aerosols. For emergency responders: Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dusts/aerosols. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal.

Materials: appropriate containers

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation should be used if possible. It is recommended to design all work processes always so that the following is excluded: Inhalation of dust/particles, Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect against: Heating, frost, humidity.

Hygiene

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Fire prevention

Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. - No smoking. Have fire-extinguishers in readiness before opening containers.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Technical measures and the application of suitable work processes have priority over personal protection equipment.

Hands

Suitable material: CR (polychloroprene, chloroprene rubber). Thickness of the glove material: 0.5 mm. Breakthrough time (maximum wearing time): ≥ 8 h. Suitable material: NBR (nitrile rubber). Thickness of the glove material: 0.35 mm. Breakthrough time (maximum wearing time): ≥ 8 h. Suitable material: BR (butyl rubber). Thickness of the glove material: 0.5 mm. Breakthrough time (maximum wearing time): ≥ 8 h. Suitable material: FKM (fluorine rubber). Thickness of the glove material: 0.4 mm. Breakthrough time (maximum wearing time): ≥ 8 h. Suitable material: PVC (poly vinyl chloride). Thickness of the glove material: 0.5 mm. Breakthrough time (maximum wearing time): ≥ 8 h.

Eyes

Eye glasses with side protection

Respiratory

Respiratory protection necessary at: aerosol or mist formation. Suitable respiratory protection apparatus: Combination filtering device (DIN EN 141). Filter class: A-P2. The filter class must be suitable for the maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that may arise when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing apparatus must be used!

Skin/Body

For the protection against direct skin contact, body protective clothing is essential (in addition to the usual working clothes).

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil.
