Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

๐Ÿซ Inhalation Exposure

Move affected person to fresh air at once. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration. Keep affected person warm and at rest. Get medical attention immediately.

Symptoms:

Vapours may cause headache, fatigue, dizziness and nausea. Irritation of nose, throat and airway.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Skin Contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.

Symptoms:

Prolonged contact may cause redness, irritation and dry skin.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Eye Contact

Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.

Symptoms:

May cause temporary eye irritation.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing

Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Give plenty of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention immediately.

Symptoms:

May cause stomach pain or vomiting.

๐Ÿšจ Immediate Medical Attention Required

Get medical attention immediately if symptoms are severe or persist. If in doubt, get medical attention promptly.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

๐Ÿญ Engineering Controls

Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapours. Observe any occupational exposure limits for the product or ingredients.

๐Ÿงค Hand Protection

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates skin contact is possible. To protect hands from chemicals, gloves should comply with European Standard EN374. For exposure up to 4 hours, wear gloves made of the following material: Butyl rubber. It should be noted that liquid may penetrate the gloves. Frequent changes are recommended. The most suitable glove should be chosen in consultation with the glove supplier/manufacturer, who can provide information about the breakthrough time of the glove material.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Eye Protection

Wear chemical splash goggles.

๐Ÿ˜ท Respiratory Protection

No specific recommendations. Respiratory protection must be used if the airborne contamination exceeds the recommended occupational exposure limit. Wear a respirator fitted with the following cartridge: Gas filter, type AX.

๐Ÿฆบ Skin/Body Protection

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of skin contact.

๐ŸŒ Environmental Exposure Controls

Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation.
