Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

All extinguishing media allowed. Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.

Unsuitable media

None known. Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

No fire hazard.

Instructions

Cool down the containers exposed to heat with a water spray. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Prevent fire fighting water from entering the environment.

Firefighter Protection

Wear a self contained breathing apparatus. Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Evacuate unnecessary personnel. Ventilate area.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Cover spill with non combustible material, e.g.: sand, earth, vermiculite. Take up mechanically (sweeping, shovelling) and collect in suitable container for disposal. Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible. Collect spillage. Store away from other materials.

Materials: sand, earth, vermiculite, clay, diatomaceous earth
