First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact

Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. In case of burns apply cold water until pain subsides then seek medical advice.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/ attention.

Ingestion

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Immediate Medical Attention

No hazards which require special first aid measures. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position. Keep patient warm and at rest.

Medical Treatment

No hazards which require special first aid measures.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames

Unsuitable media

Do NOT use water jet.

Specific hazards

Not classified as flammable or combustible, but will combust if ignited.

Instructions

Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Firefighter Protection

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Avoid contact with spilled material. Do not touch or walk through spilled material.

Small spill

Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece).

Large spill

Dyke far ahead of liquid spill for later recovery and disposal.

Environmental

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.

Cleanup methods

Recover by pumping or with suitable absorbent. Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece).

Materials: suitable absorbent, cloth, fleece

Handling

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area. Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations. For safety reasons free water must be avoided when product is handled above 95degC.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. No decomposition if stored and applied as directed. Do not reheat above: 100 °C (212 ° F).

Hygiene

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

No special requirements under ordinary conditions of use and with adequate ventilation.

Hands

Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time. When handling hot material, use heat resistant gloves. For prolonged or repeated contact use protective gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Eyes

Safety glasses. The applicable European standard can be found in EN 166.

Respiratory

No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required. The applicable European standard can be found in EN 140, EN 137, EN 143, EN 14387.

Skin/Body

Long sleeved clothing. The applicable European standard can be found in EN 14605.

Environmental

No Exposure Scenario annex is attached to this safety data sheet. It is a non-classified mixture containing hazardous substances as detailed in Section 3; relevant information from Exposure Scenarios for the hazardous substances contained have been integrated into the core sections 1-16 of this SDS. Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
