First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air, consult doctor if complaint persists.

Symptoms: Vapors may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

Skin contact

Rinse with running water and soap. Skin care. Remove contaminated clothes immediately.

Symptoms: Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

Eye contact

Immediately flush eyes with soft jet of water or eye rinse solution for at least 5 minutes. If pains remains (intensive smarting, sensitivity to light, visual disturbance) continue flushing and contact/seek doctor or hospital.

Symptoms: Irritation, conjunctivitis.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth and throat. Drink 1-2 glasses of water. Seek medical advice.

Immediate Medical Attention

If pains remains (intensive smarting, sensitivity to light, visual disturbance) continue flushing and contact/seek doctor or hospital.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Ventilate working rooms thoroughly. Avoid naked flames, sparking and sources of ignition. Switch off electrical devices. Do not smoke, do not weld. Do not empty waste into waste water drains.

Storage

Keep only in the original container. Close the container carefully after use and store it at a good ventilated place. Store protected from heat influence. Store frost-free. Temperatures between + 5 °C and + 40 °C. Do not store together with food or other consumables.

Hygiene

Do not breathe solvent vapors. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Wash hands before work breaks and after finishing work.

Fire prevention

Avoid naked flames, sparking and sources of ignition. Switch off electrical devices. Do not smoke, do not weld. Avoid all sources of fire such as stoves and ovens. Avoid all sparks, including those occurring at electrical switches and devices.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

Recommended are gloves made from Nitril rubber (Material thickness >0,1 mm, Perforation time < 30s). Gloves should be replaced after each short time contact or contamination. Available at laboratory specialized trade or at pharmacies / chemist's shops.

Eyes

Goggles which can be tightly sealed.

Respiratory

When processing large amounts. Suitable breathing mask when there is inadequate ventilation. Filter: AX

Skin/Body

Suitable protective clothing
