04

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose off safely. Wash thoroughly the body (shower or bath). After contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water.

Eye contact

After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an ophthalmologist immediately. Protect uninjured eye.

Ingestion

Do not under any circumstances induce vomiting. OBTAIN A MEDICAL EXAMINATION IMMEDIATELY.

Immediate Medical Attention

In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show directions for use or safety data sheet if possible). OBTAIN A MEDICAL EXAMINATION IMMEDIATELY.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

dry powder, CO2, foam

Unsuitable media

Water. In case of fire of insoluble products / immiscible in water, the use of water, increase the risk of propagation of the area of fire.

Specific hazards

Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Burning produces heavy smoke. When heated (decomposition) or in case of fire may liberate carbon oxides, gases and vapors which are dangerous to health.

Instructions

Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

Firefighter Protection

Use suitable breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Remove persons to safety.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes, inhalation of vapours and mists. Don't use empty container before they have been cleaned. Before making transfer operations, assure that there aren't any incompatible material residuals in the containers. Contamined clothing should be changed before entering eating areas. Do not eat or drink while working.

Storage

Store in sealed original container protected against moisture. Keep container tightly sealed and store in a frost free place. Store in a cool, dry place. Cool and adequately ventilated.

Hygiene

Contamined clothing should be changed before entering eating areas. Do not eat or drink while working.

Fire prevention

Keep away from unguarded flame, sparks, and heat sources. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Avoid accumulating electrostatic charge.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation to maintain air contaminants below exposure limits. Always provide good ventilation to maintain air contaminants below exposure limits (it is advisable to work under vacuum system).

Hands

Suitable gloves type: Butyl caoutchouc (butyl rubber).

Eyes

Use close fitting safety goggles, don't use eye lens.

Respiratory

Use adequate protective respiratory equipment. Use respiratory protection filters for gas / vapor (Type A / AX brown, ref. Standard EN 141) as a function of the levels of occupational exposure to chemical agents.

Skin/Body

Chemical protection clothing.

Environmental

Make sure there are no leaks from containers, lines and equipment users. Prevent spills into public sewers or the immediate environment. Do not empty into drains; dispose of this material and its container at a collection point for hazardous waste and in accordance with local regulations. Refer to applicable national and Community legislation concerning environmental protection, waste water, soil pollution and integrated pollution prevention and control (ex. IPPC). Check whether the activity that uses the product falls within the scope of Directive 96/61/EC (IPPC). The emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure compliance with the directives of the binding legislation on environmental protection. In some cases, to reduce emissions, might be needed maintenance or technical plant modifications.
