First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist.

Skin contact

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

Eye contact

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Ingestion

Seek immediate medical advice.

Symptoms: If swallowed or in the event of vomiting may cause aspiration into the lungs which can be fatal.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek immediate medical advice.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water mist

Unsuitable media

Water with full jet

Specific hazards

Fire gas of organic material has to be classed invariably as respiratory poison.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device. Wear fully protective suit.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.

Cleanup methods

Absorb with liquid-binding material

Materials: liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust)

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Avoid the formation of oil haze. Tightly reclose container after each use. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of formation of aerosols an adequate exhaustion is necessary.

Storage

Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles. Store under inert gas.

Fire prevention

Evolution of flammable mixtures possible in air when heated above flash point and/or during spraying or misting. The product is an oxidative drying system. With such systems contaminated cleaning rags tends to spontaneous inflammation! Used cleaning material must be stored in nonflammable containers with shut tightly cover.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. In case of skin contact wear suitable gloves. Material of gloves: Nitrile rubber, NBR. Recommended thickness of the material: >= 0,7 mm. Permeation time >= 480 minutes. The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Safety glasses

Respiratory

Use suitable respiratory protective device in case of insufficient ventilation. Combined filter: Particle-filtering half mask (filter P2 or P3) and gas filter (type A, colour brown). Respiratory protection in the event of aerosol or mist formation

Skin/Body

Protective work clothing
