First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist. In case of inhalation of aerosols remove the casualty into fresh air and seek medical advice.

Skin contact

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

Eye contact

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Open and handle receptacle with care. Use only in well ventilated areas. Ensure good interior ventilation, especially at floor level. (Fumes are heavier than air). Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of formation of aerosols an adequate exhaustion is necessary.

Pressurised container: protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C.

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Protect against electrostatic charges. Do not spray onto a naked flame or any incandescent material.

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. Solvent resistant gloves. Gloves of butyl rubber (thickness 0,5 mm; permeation time at least 8 h). Gloves of fluoric rubber (thickness 0,4 mm; permeation time at least 8 h). Gloves of nitrile rubber (thickness >= 0,38 mm; permeation >= 480 min). Gloves of PVC (thickness 0,7 mm; permeation time at least 8h). The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
