First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Provide fresh air. In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show directions for use or safety data sheet if possible). Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. In case of eye irritation consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion

Observe risk of aspiration if vomiting occurs. Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Call a physician immediately. Put victim at rest, cover with a blanket and keep warm. Do NOT induce vomiting.

Immediate Medical Attention

Call a physician immediately.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid: Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists, Inhalation of dust/particles. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Never use pressure to empty container.

Storage

Keep/Store only in original container.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. Draw up and observe skin protection programme. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary. When using do not eat or drink.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sources of heat (e.g. hot surfaces), sparks and open flames. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Provide adequate ventilation. If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation should be used if possible. If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn.

Hands

When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves. Wear suitable gloves. Replace when worn. Suitable material: Nitrril 0,35mm. Breakthrough time:: 480min. See information supplied by the manufacturer.

Eyes

Wear eye protection/face protection.

Respiratory

In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Respiratory protection necessary at: exceeding exposure limit values. Use suitable breathing apparatus.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.
