First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Assure fresh air breathing. Rest.

Skin contact

Rinse affected area thoroughly with water to remove concentrated product. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately and for at least 15 minutes with copious amounts of water (also assure adequate flushing under the eyelids and if possible after having removed contact lenses). Bring the victim to an ophthalmist.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth and do not induce vomiting! Let the victim drink 2 glasses of water on his own. Seek medical attention immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops (skin). Bring the victim to an ophthalmist (eye). Seek medical attention immediately (ingestion).

Medical Treatment

No specific recommendations.

None.

Instructions

Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire.

Firefighter Protection

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. See Heading 8.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Spill area may be slippery. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Recover spilled material as much as possible in a clean container for reuse. Spilled product must be collected with sand or an inert absorbent material and dispose of as chemical waste. Rinse away remainder with water.
