First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Fresh air. Rest.

Symptoms: No special hazards in normal use. Narcotic effects, dizziness and headaches may occur with high vapour concentrations.

Skin contact

Rinse affected area thoroughly with water to remove concentrated product. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops.

Symptoms: Redness.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately and for a long time with plenty of water. Seek medical attention if the irritation persists. Inadequate first aid may lead to persisting eye complaints.

Symptoms: Irritation. Redness, pain.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth and do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.

Symptoms: Abdominal pain. Drowsiness. Diarrhea. Nausea. Vomiting. Dizziness.

Immediate Medical Attention

No specific recommendations.

Medical Treatment

No specific recommendations.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Powder. Alcoholresistant foam.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

May form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture.

Instructions

Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire.

Firefighter Protection

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. See Heading 8.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Spill area may be slippery. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Equip cleanup crew with proper protection.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Spilled product must be collected with sand or an inert absorbent material and dispose of as chemical waste. Rinse away remainder with water.

Materials: sand or an inert absorbent material
