First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Take affected person to fresh air. Give artificial respiration in case breathing is not regular or if it has stopped. In case of unconsciousness place patient stable in side position for transportation.

Symptoms: Narcotic effects, breathing difficulties, headache, dizziness.

Skin contact

Wash off with plenty of water and soap. Consult a physician if irritation persists.

Eye contact

Remove contact lens. Rinse open eyes with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. Risk of aspiration! Immediately get medical help. In case of spontaneous vomiting, bring unconsciousness person in a stable side position.

Symptoms: If vomiting occurs after ingestion, aspiration into the lungs can occur.

Immediate Medical Attention

Immediately get medical help.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water mist, extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Water with full jet.

Specific hazards

Flammable liquid. Product floats on water surface and does not dissolve. Fumes can form an explosive mixture with air. The vapor is heavier than air, spreads along the ground and distant ignition is possible.

Instructions

Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water mist.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear appropriate protective equipment. Keep spectators away. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from sources of heat and ignition. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not ingest or inhale.

Environmental

Prevent contamination of soils, drains and surface water.

Cleanup methods

Wipe up with adsorbant material (e.g cloth, fleece).

Materials: cloth, fleece

Keep containers tightly closed. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gas/fumes/vapours/aerosols.

Storage

Store in tightly sealed containers in a dry and cool room. Store product in a well ventilated area. Protect against heat.

Hygiene

Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Fire prevention

Do not store together with ignitable sources, heat and fire. Take measures to prevent electrostatic discharge.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

No further measures, see Section 7 and 8.

Hands

Solvent resistant protective gloves. Protective glove material: Nitrile rubber (480 min, 0.4 mm) Fluoro carbon rubber - FKM (> 480 min; 0.4 mm).

Eyes

Tightly fitting safety goggles (EN 166).

Respiratory

Respiratory equipment required in case of insufficient ventilation, filter type A (organic gases and vapors).

Skin/Body

Protective clothing.

Environmental

Prevent contamination of open water ways and sewage system. Avoid contamination of ground water.
