Chemical Name CAS Number Concentration Hazardous
Calcium dihydroxide, Ca(OH)2 EC: 215-137-3 1305-62-0 5% Yes
Calcium sulphate, CaSO4 EC: 231-900-3 7778-18-9 85% No

See section 16 for the full text of hazard classes and hazard statements. Workplace exposure limits, if available, are listed in section 8.

Notes

Ingredients declaration according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008: See section 16 for the full text of hazard classes and hazard statements. Workplace exposure limits, if available, are listed in section 8. There are no additional ingredients present which, within the current knowledge of the manufacturer and in the concentrations applicable, are classified as hazardous to health or the environment, are PBTs, vPvBs or substances of equivalent concern, or have been assigned a workplace exposure limit and hence require reporting in this section.

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply and breathe fresh air. Rinse dust-exposed mucous membranes with water. If necessary, consult a doctor.

Symptoms: Dust can cause respiratory system irritation. May cause cough.

Skin contact

Wash thoroughly with plenty of water.

Symptoms: Lasting contact with mortar can cause skin irritation. Simultaneous mechanical action may intensify the effect.

Eye contact

Immediately rinse eyes with copious amounts of water at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. Consult with oculist.

Symptoms: Can cause serious eye irritation. Can cause mechanical damage of cornea surface, which intensify irritating action.

Ingestion

Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Consult a doctor.

Symptoms: Swallowing of significant amounts is not likely. However, if swallowed, may cause irritation of digestive tract.

Immediate Medical Attention

Consult with oculist (for eye contact). If necessary, consult a doctor (for inhalation). Consult a doctor (for ingestion).

Medical Treatment

The mixture contains hydrated lime, which produces an alkaline reaction when exposed to moisture. Perform symptomatic treatment directed to alleviation of any effect.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

If followed instructions, no specific measures are needed. Prevent dust formation, direct contact with skin and eyes. See also section 4.

Storage

Store in tightly sealed original packaging in dry conditions.

Fire prevention

No special measures required.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation, which is sufficient to maintain the concentration of ingredients under exposure limit values.

Hands

In the case of lasting work, wear impermeable protective gloves.

Eyes

For protection against dust and mortar splashes wear tight fitting safety glasses.

Respiratory

In the case of high dust concentrations or, when the content of ingredients may exceed exposure limit values, use suitable breathing mask with dust filter P1 or FFP1.

Skin/Body

Wear clinging and long-sleeved protective working garments and closed shoes.

Environmental

Do not allow undiluted product or large quantities of it to reach ground water, water course or sewage system. See also sections 6 and 12.
