First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air, drink water to clear throat and blow nose to evacuate dust.

Symptoms: Irritation or soreness in throat and nose. In extreme exposures some congestion may occur.

Skin contact

Rinse affected areas with water and wash gently with soap. Do not use detergent.

Symptoms: Temporary irritation or rash.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with large quantities of water.

Symptoms: Temporary irritation or inflammation.

Ingestion

Drink plenty of water.

Symptoms: May cause temporary irritation and disturbance to the gastro-intestinal system.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use extinguishing agent suitable for type of surrounding combustible materials. for packaging material only.

Instructions

Special Procedures: None required.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Do not flush spillage to drain and prevent from entering natural water courses. Material hardens in contact with water. Do not allow to be wind blown.

Cleanup methods

Use a vacuum cleaner with a high-efficiency filter fitted to the exhaust; otherwise ensure the area is wetted down prior to brushing.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep dust level to a minimum and below OEL (Occupational Exposure Limit).

Storage

Store dry and cool conditions, away from ferns heat that may cause damage to packing material.

Fire prevention

away from ferns heat that may cause damage to packing material

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use engineering control such as dust extraction a point of work to keep dust level to the lowest (See also Section 8 - Specific Control Parameters). In addition use a vacuum cleaner fitted with HEPA filters to collect debris.

Hands

Use of gloves is recommended.

Eyes

Wear goggles or safety glasses with side shields. Do not wear contact lenses.

Respiratory

Use approved and adapted protective equipments against excessive concentrations of nuisance dust, crystalline silica or other possible contaminants which could have been introduced in the material during its use. For airborne dust concentration below the limit value: optional use of approved and adapted respirator (e.g. 3M 5810 or equivalent). When the airborne dust concentration exceeds more than 3 times the limit value, use a mask such as 3M 9920 or Moldex Matrix 2405 or 3M Easy Air 7200 or equivalent. Insure always proper fit when using respiratory protection equipment.

Skin/Body

Wear overalls which are loose fitting at the neck and wrists.
