First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.

Symptoms: Inhalation produces burning sensation, coughing, breathlessness and sore throat.

Skin contact

Immediately take off all contaminated clothing. OBTAIN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose off safely. After contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water.

Symptoms: Skin contact causes redness, pain and blisters.

Eye contact

After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an ophthalmologist immediately. Protect uninjured eye.

Symptoms: Contact with the eyes produces redness, pain and loss of vision.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting.

Symptoms: If swallowed, may cause abdominal cramps, burning sensation and weakness.

Immediate Medical Attention

OBTAIN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an ophthalmologist immediately. In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show directions for use or safety data sheet if possible).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Specific hazards

Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Burning produces heavy smoke.

Instructions

Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

Firefighter Protection

Use suitable breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear personal protection equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Remove persons to safety. See protective measures under point 7 and 8.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Retain contaminated washing water and dispose it.

Cleanup methods

Wash with plenty of water.

Materials: absorbing material, organic, sand

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes, inhalation of vapours and mists. Don't use empty container before they have been cleaned. Before making transfer operations, assure that there aren't any incompatible material residuals in the containers.

Storage

Temperature interval : min: 5. °C, max: 40. °C. Keep away from food, drink and feed. Adequately ventilated premises.

Hygiene

Contaminated clothing should be changed before entering eating areas. Do not eat or drink while working.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

Neoprene rubber gloves (EN374).

Eyes

Safety goggles for chemicals, with suitable lateral protection (EN166).

Respiratory

Combined filter mask for gases and vapours (EN14387).

Skin/Body

Neoprene rubber boots (EN347). Apron resistant to corrosive products. Clothing resistant to corrosive products.

Environmental

Prevent uncontrolled penetration on the soil. Because of volatility, emissions to the atmosphere while handling and use may result. Avoid any release into the atmosphere. Emissions from ventilation equipment or work processes should be evaluated to verify compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the prevention of environment. In some cases it will be necessary to use fume scrubbers, filters or modifications in the design of process equipment to reduce emissions to an acceptable level.
