First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice.

Skin contact

Wash off with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction.

Eye contact

Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

Ingestion

Keep respiratory tract clear. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take victim immediately to hospital.

Immediate Medical Attention

If unconscious, seek medical advice. Take victim immediately to hospital if swallowed.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

None known.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Cleanup methods

Neutralize with chalk, alkali solution or ammonia. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Materials: chalk, alkali solution or ammonia, inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area. Persons susceptible to skin sensitisation problems or asthma, allergies, chronic or recurrent respiratory disease should not be employed in any process in which this mixture is being used. Do not breathe vapours/dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. For personal protection see section 8. Do not smoke. Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Hygiene

General industrial hygiene practice. When using do not eat or drink. When using do not smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

Fire prevention

Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapour or mist, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.

Hands

Material : Polychloroprene - CR Wearing time : < 60 min Remarks : The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves. Material : Polyvinyl chloride - PVC Wearing time : < 60 min After contamination with product change the gloves immediately and dispose of them according to relevant national and local regulations

Eyes

Tightly fitting safety goggles Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.

Respiratory

In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Filter type : Recommended Filter type: Combined inorganic and acidic gas/vapour, ammonia/amines and organic vapour type (ABEK)

Skin/Body

Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. Impervious clothing
